How to Add a Video Background in Squarespace

Navigate to the section where you want to add the video. Click Edit Section and go to the Background segment. From there, select Video and upload your desired video. Please note that uploading the video may take a few minutes, so be patient while it processes.

Once the video is uploaded, you’ll have several customization options. You can adjust the background width, apply filters, and change the playback speed. By default, the playback speed is set to 0.5x, so make sure to adjust it back to 1x for normal speed.

Pro Tip: You can also add a mobile fallback image. This means that if the video doesn’t play on mobile devices, an image will be displayed instead. I highly recommend adding this feature to ensure a seamless user experience on your page
