How to Find Collection, Block, and Section IDs on Squarespace

In this short tutorial, learn how to easily find target ID’s on Squarespac using the Squarespace ID Finder

To find the Squarespace target IDs, you simply need to add a Chrome extension to Google Chrome. This extension is called Squarespace ID Finder, and you can download it by clicking here.

As shown in the image below, you use it by clicking on the logo marked in red. Once clicked, all of the IDs will be displayed. Here is a quick rundown of what they mean:

  • #collection-id targets the whole page. In this instance, it applies to my homepage.

  • section[data-section-id] targets a specific section. In my case, it’s the hero section of my homepage.

  • All other IDs target specific elements such as text, images, buttons, etc.
